ELTS Responsibilities

Client Responsibilities

Permits & Regulatory Compliance: We will make sure that all required permits, licenses, and fees are obtained for your event. Any specific regulatory requirements, such as noise or timing constraints, will be addressed in your proposal.

Aquatic Licenses: Necessary for firing fireworks on shared waterways. If needed, ELTS will secure an aquatic license from the Department of Transport.

CASA Clearances: Necessary if fireworks will exceed 400 feet in height. ELTS will obtain air clearances from CASA to carry out the fireworks display.

Council Approvals: Necessary for all Council-owned lands. If needed, ELTS will work with the relevant council to secure approvals for the fireworks display.

CFS 9th Schedule Permits: Necessary for all outdoor fireworks displays during the summer season. ELTS will obtain a 9th Schedule Permit from the CFS

Fire Appliance: Necessary if requested by the CFS under the 9th Schedule permit. If needed, ELTS will arrange for a MFS or CFS fire appliance to be on site. Please be aware that there are fees associated with booking a CFS fire appliance.

Land Permission: Necessary for all outdoor fireworks displays. ELTS will consult with and obtain permission from the landowners or custodians.

Notification to the public: Must be completed no less than 7 days and no more than 14 days before the event. ELTS will publish a notice of the fireworks display in the public notices section of the Local Newspaper.

Risk Assessments: ELTS will perform a risk assessment for the fireworks displays and distribute it to the appropriate parties involved.

Safework SA: Notification is required for all outdoor firework displays at least 7 days before the event. ELTS will inform Safework SA of the upcoming display.

Coordination with Fire Service Personnel: We will work with the local fire service personnel to ensure that your show satisfies the local regulations.

Transportation: We are responsible for the transportation of the materials, crew, and equipment to and from the firing location.

Licensed Operators: We are responsible for obtaining a licensed crew that is qualified to produce your show.

Materials & Product: We are responsible for obtaining all fireworks and related materials for your show.

Insurance: We are responsible for obtaining the necessary insurance to adequately cover the pyrotechnics display.

Equipment: We are responsible for obtaining all equipment necessary to setup, shoot, transport, and clean up the show.

 

Security: The client is responsible for hiring a qualified security firm to provide overnight guard services as well as security services on the day of the event.

Location: The client is responsible for securing the necessary permission for the firing location.

Staging: ELTS does not provide any staging or rigging. But we can introduce you to one of our production partners that can assist

Audio & Visual Requirements: The client is responsible for securing the required equipment for music amplification or video display. ELTS will supply an audio file on a USB and the firing system to transmit Timecode. ELTS firing system can also accept timecode if coming from an alternate source. ELTS does not provide any audio or video production for fireworks displays. But we can assist you in a full turn key solution for your event

Power Requirements: If required, the client is responsible for providing adequate power 240vac to the firing location.

Garbage Disposal Requirements: If necessary, the client is responsible for arranging the required garbage disposal bins. ELTS will specify the size and quantity needed.

Crew Restroom Facilities: The client is responsible for providing adequate restroom facilities for the pyrotechnics crew.

Crew Restroom Facilities: The client is responsible for providing Catering to crews working over 5 hours.

Communications Equipment: I If needed, the client is responsible for supplying any communications equipment for the crew. For instance, if the Pyrotechnics Operator needs to coordinate with the staging manager to start the show, the client must provide a communications radio Or wireless comms (Ie Freespeak2 or Bolero)

Additional Clean Up: Following the show, the crew will take care of most of the firework debris. However, any further cleanup will be the client’s responsibility.

The Show Budget

 

The budget for the show is influenced by various factors, including the size and complexity of the display, the firing location, the number and types of fireworks used, and more. This all-inclusive budget covers elements such as materials, labor, permits, transportation, fire service personnel, equipment fees, and GST sales tax. ELTS will collaborate with you to create a fireworks show that fits within your budgetary constraints.

Show Permits

 

Depending on the season and weather conditions, a show may require a permit from the local fire authority. ELTS will handle obtaining the necessary license for the jurisdiction where the show will be held. Beyond fire authority permits, additional permissions may also be needed. Locations near airports typically require consent from the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA). Additionally, firing areas located on or near boating or shipping waterways will often need an Aquatic License issued by the Department of Transport and Infrastructure (DTI).

Lead Times

 

Although ELTS can facilitate arrangements on short notice, most government departments, agencies, and councils typically do not operate this way. We recommend reaching out to us as early as possible to ensure we can secure all the necessary permits and permissions for your show. In general, we advise providing at least four (4) weeks’ notice.

Fire Service Personnel

 

Depending on the firing location, time of year, and weather conditions, the show permits may not cover the cost of having a local CFS fire appliance on site.

Goverment Lands

 

Some lands owned by Local Councils and Governments attract fees for property usage.
